MAME32™ Disses The Controllers - Upgrade To Plus!

With the new versions of MAME32™ .100 and up, the controller config files including the one for X-Arcade™ have been removed! In a forum post on the MAME32™ forum, John Hardy IV (JohnIV_Mame32QA) said "Inclusion was seen as implicit endorsement of said products and free advertisement, so they're all gone. Each company should be responsible for providing them."

Strange that they have made this decision considering that MAME™ itself has not removed them.

We are now including the X-Arcade™ config file for download, but we would recommend using the much better MAME32™ Plus! which still includes this and has other great options that MAME32™ does not.

A new arcade game database has emerged on the net called codebot.. One excellent feature is the ability to add content to the site. In fact, each entry at this point simply has a screenshot and basic information about each game. Below that entry, you have the ability to add notes and information. Not sure if this will become the community driven database as advertised, but it is a step in the right direction.

Move Over DOOM... PONG THE MOVIE IS COMING!

Retroblast and Joystiq are reporting that the movie PONG is coming to a theatre near you, due for a late 2006 theater release. The director who also directed the movie Mortal Kombat hinted on the pltt with these details: 'There will be awesome hand to hand combat, I can tell you that much,' blurted Anderson. 'If you’ve played PONG, it will be like discovering it for the first time all over again. If you’ve never played PONG, it will be like discovering it twice. Twice much,'

The screen play will be written by Steven E. de Souza, know for other video game movies such as Street Fighter and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.

Man, t his movie sounds like a real winner in the making!
