It looked like some kind of man, some kind of... Pac-Man

You may have caught our April Fool's version of The Legend of Zelda: The Hero of Time movie NOT coming to a theatre near you.

A new movie trailer for another movie that is NOT coming to a theatre near you has been released, this time... it's Pac-Man!

Thanks Joystiq

Super Mario Bros. 2.5D

Super Mario 2.5DNickMade games has created a 3D-rendered version of Super Mario Brothers for the NES.

From the website: "Super Mario Bros 2.5D is a remake of the classic, Super Mario Bros... in 3D. How can you remake a 2D game in 3D? Add depth! Defeat enemies as Mario in a whole new way with 3D views and 3D graphics!"

After playing it, it doesn't seem to be a "remake" since the level design is all new. But it is neat to see it like this.

Necromanthus RemakesNow you can play more games in your web browser, and this time it's not another Pac-Man clone. Necromanthus.com has flash/shockwave versions of Quake 3, Half-Life, Warcraft, Dues Ex, DOOM, Heretic, Diablo, Mortal Kombat, and more! They're pretty much all demos/betas at the moment, but here's hoping he keeps working on them!

Play Frogger Online

Frogger OnlinePaul Neave has been working on a Flash version of Frogger for some months now. It has been up for some time, but is now finished.

I'm not sure why he made it since it has already been remade before with the original music which this version is lacking, but this one does keep weekly a worldwide high-score list which is neat.

Best of all, it's FREE! You can play it right in your web browser.

Dreamcast Wakes From Dead!

Dreamcast RebornIt's a date Sega fans will never forget -- 9.9.99. It was a day of promise, a day for dreams. Priced at just $200 bucks and launched with more than a dozen titles, the Dreamcast was destined to return Sega to prominence. But alas, the Dreamcast suffered an early death... or did it?

The Dreamcast tallied roughly 250 games released in the U.S.and IGN is going to replay every last one of them and provide you with new impressions, screens and videos. How have Sega's classic games held up over the past few years and, more importantly, which are still worth playing? One by one, IGN will examine the entire DC library to answer those questions.

Moreover, GOAT Store Publishing has announced they are currently working on ten new games for the Dreamcast in various genres. More details of each project will be revealed this weekend at the Midwest Gaming Classic, where attendees will be able to play demos of some of the titles in development.

Rampage is Back!

Rampage Total Destruction Rampage: Total Destruction has hit the streets, literally! It boasts over 25 characters, and virtually everything in the new 3D environments can be damaged, broken, and utterly destroyed with plenty of hilarious results.

In addition to the new Total Destruction game you also get the original arcade classic Rampage from 1986 and Rampage World Tour from 1997.

The game was released for both the PlayStation 2 and GameCube at the bargain-bin price of only $19.95. Our friends at Retroblast/COIN-OP TV reviewed it, and from the sounds of it Rampage fans can't go wrong for the price.

King of Fighters 2006!

King of Fighters 2006It seems that SNK Playmore is getting serious about sticking with 3D for its fighting games, since the follow-up to Maximum Impact comes bearing the title The King of Fighters 2006, suggesting that this is no longer a spin-off but now an official part of the series proper.

GameSpot got a chance to play a finished Japanese-language PlayStation 2 build of the game and came away with a positive first impression based on the improvements made to this installment.

There are more than a few unlockable hidden fighters, including some popular SNK favorites you might not expect to appear in a King of Fighters game. We're talking about folks like Fio from the Metal Slug series and Hanzo Hattori from Samurai Shodown!

US fans will get their hands on the game which is scheduled for release around August of this year.

ClassicGaming.com Reviews the X-Arcade™ Trackball

ClassicGaming.com Reviews The X-Arcade Trackball"I'd recommend this product to any gamer looking for an authentic arcade feel at home. There simply is no competition that comes close to this short of trying to hack together your own from actual arcade parts, and even then you wouldn't come close to XGAMING INC.'s bulletproof industrial quality construction. You also wouldn't get the 30 day money back return policy, toll free customer support, AND a lifetime warranty. Coupled with the $99 price its a complete steal. As a bonus, XGAMING INC. is bundling in the Atari Anniversary Edition cd-rom (the 2003 repackaging of the Atari Arcade Hits Vol. 1 and 2), for the PC." - Nope we didn't say all of this, ClassicGaming.com said it for us!

Marty "Retro Rogue" Goldberg reviewed XGAMING INC.'s latest addition to its X-Arcade™ series of controllers, the X-Arcade™ Trackball. Roll on over and check it out!
